Resilience Competencies
Resilience is the ability to cope with stress and challenges and bounce back from an adversity that comes your way.
There are six different resilience competencies that should be used and developed to ensure good resilience skills. By being aware of and using these resilience competencies, challenges that occur in your life can be solved easier and significantly less problems will occur. These include self-awareness, self-regulation, optimism, strengths of character, mental agility, and connection.

Self-awareness
Self-awareness is the ability to identify your own thoughts, emotions and behaviours.
By being self aware you know how to develop your personal skills, are aware of your strengths and weaknesses and how to improve them.
Self-regulation
Self-regulation is being able to regulate your thoughts, actions, and emotions.
Self-regulation helps you as you know how to control yourself and know when to stop. You know how to regulate your needs and you can control yourself better.
Optimism
Optimism is being able to remain realistic and maintain hope even when things seem to be going wrong. You have confidence in yourself and believe that you can do it.
Having Optimism means that you can stay happy and positive and encourage others to be faithful and be cheerful.
Strengths of Character
Strengths of Character is having the knowledge of your top character strengths and knowing how to use them. You believe in the strengths that you have and use them to the best of your abilities.
By having Strengths of Character you can use your strengths to help yourself and others grow as a person.
Mental Agility
Mental Agility is the ability to think flexibly and take in other perspectives and views on adversities.
Having Mental Agility enables you to 'think outside the box' and try new things. You can realise how to fix problems and can fix them in different ways.
Connection
Connection is the competency of having strong relationships, supporting others, and having positive and effective communication skills.
By having Connection, you can easily communicate with people and you know how to help people feel better and support them.
